Rarely does a day go by without reference in the news to the risks children run of being sedentary, homebound, attached to virtual realities, removed from wide, open spaces and held back by what can be a restrictive curriculum when they go to school with an emphasis on test results and outcomes rather than the fun of learning for its own sake.
Walk the Loop helps to counter-balance such risks by running nature trails, outdoor events and related arts and crafts activities that allow young children and those caring for them to:
– walk together with joy and purpose
– stop, look and stare
– be curious
– touch, feel and discover
– communicate their wonder to others
– make and create
Its mission is to offer an excellent service that is child-centred while also supportive of parent-carers, childminders, practitioners and teachers.
