DSC_1189-1 (367x367)Just take a yoghurt pot lid and some kitchen towel cut to fit, soak this in water and sprinkle it with cress seeds.

With regular watering, the seeds will soon transform before your eyes as they swell up, turn a greenish white and then sprout shoots and leaves that are ready to eat within a week. Children even at a very young age can watch the magic of nature in this way.

Now is also a good time of year for them to select a spot in the garden, on a balcony or a window sill where they can plant some seedlings, nurturing them over the months to come and creating their own special garden.

DSC_1190 (640x360)Those attending our Signs of Spring event could start out on this venture, each taking away with them some cress seeds ready to sprout and a small pot with a primrose that, if properly cared for, can keep on growing from year to year.
